Who can attend TEDxSummit 2012?

Only TEDx organizers with an active license and event date in the TEDx database can apply to attend. Initially, one individual from each active TEDx event may register -- Primary License, Co-Organizer or team member.

It is extremely important you confer with your team as to who this one person will be, and that key members of your team are aware of the TEDxSummit, before submitting an application. In November, we will open registration to additional TEDx team members if space allows.

What is the cost of attending TEDxSummit 2012?

Attendance to TEDxSummit 2012 is free -- cost of all accommodation, social events and food will be covered. You will have to pay for your own airfare from your home city to Doha, Qatar.

When should I book my flight? Will there be discounts?

We will provide detailed flight and hotel instructions to you after we approve your application to attend TEDxSummit 2012. Please plan to arrive on Sunday, April 15. The conference will run from Monday, April 16, until Friday, April 20.

I can't afford to pay airfare from my home city to Qatar. What can I do?

A limited number scholarships to cover the cost of airfare will be available. Please indicate you need assistance on the application form.

Can I bring my family/friends/kids/spouse/significant other to Doha with me?

TEDxSummit is exclusively for TEDx organizers and the week will be packed morning to night with activities. We cannot accommodate guests during the summit.

If you would like to bring someone to Doha after TEDxSummit and extend your stay, you are free to do so, but you must cover all costs and visa arrangement. However, you must participate in TEDxSummit until the end.

Does attending TEDxSummit qualify me to organize an event with more than 100 attendees?

No. Because TEDxSummit is not an official TED Conference, attending does not qualify you to host a larger event. (Attending TEDGlobal, TEDActive or TED would qualify you.)
